The Doctor is IN!: the Fab Fives of Creating Cohousing Communities Virtual via Zoom

Details

Mid Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) will reprise its popular and well-attended The Doctor is IN! event on:

Sunday, November 10, 2024
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT (1:00 pm Central, noon Mountain, 11:00 am Pacific, 10:00 Alaska, 9:00 am Hawaii).

Our panel of "Doctors" will happily answer your questions on anything and everything cohousing:

  • What are the benefits of living in community?

  • How do I start a group?

  • How much does it cost to build a cohousing community?

  • How long does it take to build a cohousing community?

  • Our building costs are out of sight! Help!

  • How do you deal with difficult personalities?

  • We're having problems with consensus. Suggestions?

Your questions, observations, and comments will be welcomed.
The Doctor Is IN!
... is NOT a tour of any community. Rather, it's a Q&A session designed to support the work of those who are Forming, Building or Living in a cohousing community, and those who are reporting/researching these topics. Inquirers, seekers, the curious ... old hands, new hands ... all are welcome at this Zoom meeting. To wit, MAC invites YOU -- no matter where you live, or what stage in your dream you find yourself-- come and meet the Attending “Doctors”, with over 150 years of combined experience listed:

  • Martie, Liberty Village, 30 years; specializing in consensus and building, a second phase to a community

  • Ann, Takoma Village, 35 years; starting a community, marketing, outreach, sales, group organization, resales, bylaws (not a lawyer!)

  • Daisy, In cohousing, 20 years working w/ communities and inclusivity; Member, Nat’l CRDC (Coalition for Racially Diverse Cohousing), Uses technology to create Evergreen presentations.

  • Lorraine, Burning Soul for Cohousing of Greater Baltimore, 5 years experience in forming a group; site search; 30 years interested in cohousing.

  • Joel, Architect, Altair Cohousing; 25 years; alternative building models; what happens once you own a site; working with the municipality ... and the neighbors?

  • Raines a.k.a. Mr. Cohousing Encyclopedia, Berkeley Cohousing (California); 35 years; Cohousing Coach; senior cohousing; aging in community; finding a community; what else do you want to know?

·         All are Members of the Board of Directors for MAC.
Other "Doctors" may join us as their R&R games complete ...
With your questions at hand, the "Doctors" will address all things cohousing including but not limited to development models, marketing, outreach, and building and sustaining the community, along with building the bricks n' mortar structures.

·         Please join us for this fun event! We will meet here.
Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, 2-3:30pm ET :-)

·         In community,
Martie, Ann, Daisy, Lorraine, Joel, Raines, Jon, Patricia
Board of Directors, Mid-Atlantic Cohousing
